Files that will take longer than 5 hours to print will not be printed. Any file(s) submitted over the limit of 3 will not be printed, and will need to be re-submitted after a notification from Library staff that the initial 3 are completed is received. On January 1, 2024, the Creation Lab has updated policies related to 3D printing.Beginning on this date, patrons may have 3 files/objects in process at one time. Patrons will be notified via email about the status of submitted files. The Library reserves the right to decline to print a 3D printed object for any reason. Please allow up to 10 business days for your file to be completed. The patron is responsible for the cost of the completed object(s). Many also include optimization functions and 3D printing-specific features such as support generation. Library staff will schedule print jobs in the order received and notify the requestor when the job is complete. Easel Pro allows you to import 2D images like JPG, DXF, or SVG file formats for carving 2.5D projects like flat signs with V-Bit engravings. Depending on the program, you’ll be able to sculpt, combine/merge multiple STL files, delete sections, repair errors, resize, scale, and, importantly, for 3D printing, convert a model to a solid and export-ready for slicing. Patrons who would like to submit files for printing must use the form linked below. The Library’s 3D printer is a PolyPrinter 229.
